hi-hat clutch

I don't like my hi-hat clutch and I'd like some opinions about alternatives. What clutch are you using, and would you recommend it? I'm currently using a Yamaha, but I'm not thrilled by its design or performance.

Having your hi-hat clutch come loose is now a thing of the past with TAMA's Seculity Clutch. When the T-bolt is tightened, bottom lock nut and top section press on the rod for complete security.

I've been playing with Taye Drum's top of the line Hi-Hat which is designed by Ray Ayotte. His hardware is super efficient !
Never had a problem with the clutch.

Hey Randy, good surprise to see you are a Taye Drums endorser.
I've been playing Taye drums for a couple of years now. But not playing on a regular basis.

Hey, Randy, if you read this, the Del Vikings you play with, are they the same group as the one from the 50s ?? I played in a New Jersey Club in the 60s, and we were the warm-up band for the Del Vikings !

I like Remo's clutch if you don't need a drop clutch. It has a bayonet type screw mount that can't come loose and drop your top cymbal. Great for heavy hitters.

I'm firmly sold on the DW clutch. It even has a memory lock/extra safety tension to ensure the clutch won't loosen and unscrew the bottom cymbal by accident. Great if you pedal a lot...

1 in the same. I get called to do drums with many 50's Doo Wop acts such as them, the Diamonds, The Coasters and so forth.
If you look at the Taye site, there is a pic of me with Peter Marshall, I do quite a few gigs with him too, great singer but most people only know of him from his days as host of Hollywood Squares.
